RedBlack Software launches pay-as-you-go CyBake Core business management solution for UK's smaller bakers
Yorkshire developer aims to democratise bakery IT
Bakery Industry Exhibition (BIE), NEC, Birmingham, England – March 22, 2010 – RedBlack Software today launches CyBake Core, a new pay-as-you-go version of its CyBake business management software for bakers. The new offering is aimed at smaller bakers who will be able to take advantage of CyBake Core's fully-featured capabilities for as little as £125 per month on a rental contract basis.
“Our aim is to democratise information technology in the baking business.”
RedBlack Software's Managing Director Jane Tyler
Jane Tyler, managing director of York-based RedBlack Software, says: "Our aim is to democratise information technology in the baking business. While most of our current customers will have at least a handful of staff using CyBake as their main workday interface, we get enquiries from bakers who only need systems for one or two users. Very often, they struggle with spreadsheets and mismatched systems or they have software that is antiquated and suffers from low-levels of support from its original designers."
RedBlack Software says that its own research into the UK's smaller bakery market would suggest that many firms rely on paper-based systems or IT applications that are coming to the end of their useful lives. If suppliers of such software fall victim to uncertain economic conditions, their customers will be left entirely exposed.
RedBlack Software, by contrast, has been established for fifteen years and has over 60 CyBake customers. The company recently released CyBake 3 which includes modules for e-business, customer relationship management and the kind of traceability and compliance functions all bakers now need. It launched a new stand-alone EPOS-based shop ordering application, CyBake Touch, in January, 2010. In February, 2010, RedBlack introduced a special interface between CyBake 3 and Stevens Group's Vantage weighing systems that cuts bakery production costs.
“The beauty of our approach is that we custom-fit our solutions to each individual client, large or small”
As its name suggests, it is envisioned that smaller bakers will use CyBake Core for core functions such as sales order processing, recipe costing and credit control.
"The beauty of our approach is that we custom-fit our solutions to each individual client, large or small," says Tyler. "If a smaller baker expands or needs some of CyBake's more advanced functions, then CyBake Core can be upgraded to their individual requirements by our technicians. The CyBake tech team literally live and breathe the bakery business. Their job is to solve customers' problems and let bakers get on with doing what they do best."
CyBake Core comes with a single-user contract. The CyBake Core package including set-up and training costs just £3,500 or £125 per-month for a three-year contract.
NOTE TO EDITORS: RedBlack Software managing director Jane Tyler will be available for interview at the Bakery Industry Exhibition (BIE) at the NEC, Birmingham, on March 21, 22 and 23 (stand K290D) and will be delivering a seminar on bakery business IT to the British Confectioners' Association on March 24.
